KNUD HOLST ANDERSEN (1935- 2009 )

After completing his apprenticeship as a silversmith in Denmark in 1961, Knud Holst Andersen went abroad to continue his studies at the Tokyo University of Art from 1961 to 1964 and in the Royal College Of Art in Kensington, England in 1975. Andersen has submitted examples of his silver and bronze hollowware to exhibitions held in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and France. His work is represented in museums and other public collections and has won many honors. In 1973 the Danish Society of Arts and Crafts named him "Artist-Craftsman of the Year". He has been associated with the Georg Jensen Silversmithy since 1973.
