LASSE BAEHRING

Lasse Baehring is a talented young Danish Silversmith. He trained at the Georg Jensen Silversmithy from 1981-85, executing the designs of some of their most famous designers. After completing his training at Georg Jensen, he remained for 4 more years doing most of the Henning Koppel collection, teaching the next generation of apprentices and assisting the foreman of the silversmithy. In1989, he was one of 14 students to be accepted to the Danish Goldsmith Highschool. After ending his education he went back to work for George Jensen while creating his own designs. In 1992 he won his first prize - the prestigious Hetsch Medal in Bronze. In 1993, he opened his own workshop and since then has participated in more than 30 exhibitions and competitions in Denmark and Europe winning a great number of grants and prizes, among them the Hetsch medal in Silver (highest honour) and the Sct. Loye award of the Copenhagen Goldsmithguild of 1429. He has also worked on private commissions such as trophies for The Danish Handball Faderation and the Danish Woman National Team.
