| By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS COPENHAGEN, Denmark, June 20 (AP) - Nanna Ditzel, one of Denmark's leading designers, who won international acclaim for her sleek and functional furniture, died here on Friday. She was 81. Her death, after a short illness, was announced to the Danish media by friends of her family. She remained active as a designer until early this year. Ms. Ditzel worked in materials ranging from fiberglass to foam rubber to make tables, chairs and sofas for homes and offices. She also designed silver for the Danish jeweler Georg Jensen. Born in Copenhagen in 1923, Ms. Ditzel held an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker before graduating from the the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1946. She married the architect Jorgen Ditzel the same year, and they established a design studio. They won several prizes in international design competitions. Her first husband died in 1961, and in 1968 she married Kurt Heide, a German-born businessman. They lived in London. She moved back to Copenhagen after Heide died in 1985, establishing her own design studio there.
