TIAS ECKHOFF(1926- )Recently appointed Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of St Olav, on June 20 th 2007, for his long career in industrial design, Tias Eckhoff is the designer of many flatware patterns, including Cypress designed for Georg Jensen, for which he had won the Lunning Prize in 1953. A graduate of the Norwegian School of Arts and Crafts, he has won many other awards, including gold medals at the Milan Triennale in both 1954 and 1957. Employed at Porsgund Porcelain Factory since 1949, his designs continue to be recognized both in his own nation and abroad, being found in museums in New York.
